United Way and Donor Advised Funds
Many of our parents choose to designate their annual United Way gift to The York School; simply indicate that you would like The York School to be the recipient when you make your United Way donation, stating the school’s Charitable Registration # 10822 6242 RR0001.

Gifts of Securities
Canadian tax on the capital gains accrued on publicly traded securities can be eliminated when the securities are gifted to a registered charity like The York School. Donors will receive a tax receipt for the stock value at the close of business on the day of the transfer.

U.S. Residents
Donors based in the United States can receive an IRS tax receipt for their donation by making the gift through Friends of Independent Schools and Better Education (FRISBE), a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt corporation whose charitable purpose is to make grants to educational organizations.
If you are sending a cheque to FRISBE designated for The York School, you must include a message that states your name and address and your request to designate your contribution to The York School (1320 Yonge Street Toronto, ON, Canada M4T 1X2).
